USER TESTING – Prototype 3 (Leadership)

Dear user,

Many thanks for taking time to test the leadership module. As part of project SILVER it is vital that we gather feedback from users so we can engage in an iterative design process, making improvements based on user feedback. Please tell us about your experience using the leadership module. Was it easy to use? Did you find the content interesting? Did it enhance your understanding of leadership? Do online applications such as this perform better than traditional paper-based learning methods?

SILVER Prototype 3

Dear all,

Many thanks to all who took part in what was a very interesting focus group session on Thursday January 28th. The SILVER team is now digesting all the feedback that our focus group participants gave us. If anyone has any further thoughts please add to this thread. Once again thanks for giving of your time, you contribution is much appreciated.

Prototype 2 – online testing

On November 25th Martin Crabbe from Glebe School will be testing with his students Prototype 2 which focuses on sustainability. After the session, he and his students will be posting their feedback on to the SILVER blog.
 
The SILVER team would like to thank Martin Crabbe and his school in advance for testing the SILVER application for us and offering us their useful feedback. We look forward to receiving these comments.

Classroom testing at Peacehaven Community School

On October 22nd the SILVER team travelled to the town of Peacehaven to carry out a classroom testing session at Peacehaven Community School. School teacher Sarah Bamford led a very lively session after which she gave an interview to the SILVER team, offering some really interesting and useful feedback on the latest SILVER prototype, which focuses on the subject of ‘sustainability’. 

The SILVER team is now completing work on SILVER prototype 2 and is planning the 3rd and final prototype, which will focus on the subject of ‘Leadership’.

Many thanks to Sarah Bamford for allowing us to test the SILVER application in her classroom and also for offering such useful feedback to the SILVER team.

Classroom Testing

The SILVER team is delighted to be visiting Lincoln Minster School on Tuesday 22nd September to test the latest SILVER prototype. The teacher supervising the session will be Lawrence Collins, one of our focus group participants. We are very grateful to Lawrence and his students for participating in this important classroom testing session.

APPLE Education Four-day Training Event

Ross Wallis, one of the SILVER project teachers, will be part of a team of 12 Apple Distinguished Educators delivering a four- day course from 29th June to 2nd July at the Leigh Academy in Dartford, Kent. He will be updating us on the development of this training event with some further information and comments.

Prototype 2 – Focus Group 2 – May 22nd 2009

Dear all

Many thanks to all who took part in the SILVER focus group session on Friday May 22nd, it proved to be a most interesting event with lots useful feedback from our teachers/educators. In an attempt to keep alive this dialogue I am proposing that we all post comments and feedback to this thread over the coming days and weeks. If she has not done so already then Susa will be sending out a link to the SILVER prototype 2 application. Your feedback and suggestions are of great importance to the project and play a central role in maintaining the iterative design process that we favor.

SILVER FG 1 – follow up

Dear all,

Firstly, can I say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to what was a very interesting session last Monday (March 23rd). A special thanks to all of the teachers who took part! In the interest of continued dialogue I would like to make the following comments:

It was clear from what all of the teachers said that we at SILVER need to redefine what the ‘task’ might be? Perhaps the learning objective should be, to quote Stella, “to investigate different perspectives on the definition of sustainability (economic, social, environmnetal) and the trade-off between them.”? The learning activity might be delivered in 2 parts, first the students explore historic images from the Bridgeman collection to gain a better understanding of the principles of sustainability before going into their own communities/homes to explore sustainable buildings locally.
